Here’s a guilt free chocolate spread you can say is good for you. While spreads typically contain trans fats and refined sugar, this one contains a good amount of key vitamins and minerals. This particular recipe calls for no refined sugar, no soy and no artificial flavoring taking all the good, fresh ingredients like organic cocoa powder and honey have to offer, and leave out all the bad. It’s that easy. Prep takes 5 min and this is a quick and healthy way to satisfy your sweet tooth.

Prep time 5 min
Servings 6

2 cups roasted organic hazelnuts or substitute 2 cups almonds
⅓ cup organic raw honey or grade B maple syrup
4 tablespoons organic, fair trade cocoa powder
1 tablespoon organic coconut oil
6 or more tablespoons of water (amount will vary)

1. In a food processor, combine the nuts with the honey and cocoa powder.
2. Pulse until it starts to form a paste, and then run the food processor continually to puree the mixture.
3. Add water, a tablespoon at a time, until the mixture reaches a spreadable consistency. You may need to run the food processor for quite a while.
4. Store the finished product in a pint jar in the fridge.
5. Spread on fresh bread, pancakes, crêpes, ice cream
